Front End Team Member
Join Total Wine as a Front End Team Member: earn $15.11–$21.15/hr, receive great benefits, and grow with wine, spirits, and beer training. Flexible full-time opportunity!
The Front End Team Member position at Total Wine offers a hands-on role with hourly pay between $15.11 and $21.15. This is a regular, full-time opportunity designed for those passionate about customer service and the beverage industry.
As a Front End Team member, your day primarily involves operating the register, greeting shoppers, checking IDs, handling payments, bagging items, and promoting store loyalty programs. You’ll also get cross-trained in inventory, stocking, and product knowledge.
Retail experience is preferred, but not required. The role does require you to be over 21, to be able to stand or walk for most of your shift, and to lift up to 50 pounds. A true “on your feet” retail job!
What You’ll Do Each Day
Your daily duties include processing transactions swiftly and accurately, providing recommendations, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with store displays and merchandising tasks.
In addition, you’ll interact with customers by answering their questions about wines, beers, and spirits—using the knowledge gained from your on-site training sessions.
You’ll also be encouraged to stay updated on current promotions and loyalty benefits that Total Wine offers, ensuring shoppers leave satisfied and well-informed.
All team members take turns supporting other sections when needed, so flexibility and a team mindset are valued highly in this role.
The company culture encourages developing your skills and offers chances for cross-training and career advancement.
Pros: Benefits and Company Culture
Total Wine stands out for its comprehensive benefits package: store discounts, paid time off, health insurance, 401k, tuition assistance, and more.
The culture is supportive and team-oriented, with a focus on training. Staff are empowered with the knowledge to genuinely help customers and share their enthusiasm for products.
Cons: Physical Demands and Scheduling
The biggest challenges are being on your feet most of the day and needing to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion, which can be physically tiring.
Additionally, schedules require flexibility, usually including evenings and weekends, which might not suit everyone’s lifestyle needs.
Final Verdict
For those who value solid pay, strong benefits, and clear paths for growth, the Front End Team Member position at Total Wine is an excellent option—especially for those who enjoy retail and helping people discover great beverages.
